A decade of Pawsitive impact: fundraising legend Pyreanean Mountain Dog Aragorn (age 10) puts up his paws.

Pyreanean Mountain Dog, Aragorn, has been pawraising for Kids with Cancer Foundation since 2014, starting when he was just a pup. Now, at 10 years old, Aragorn is putting up his paws after almost a decade of helping raise awareness and funds to help support the near 800 children diagnosed with cancer in Australia each year – one pat at a time.

A decade of Pawsitive impactTogether with his 85-year-old owner, Lorna McDonough-Brown, Aragorn has put up his paws after his last market in late August 2023 on the NSW mid North Coast in Forster. This dynamic duo have raised over $1,700 for Kids with Cancer Foundation through pats and awesomeness and are now looking forward to a well-deserved retirement.

For nearly a decade, Aragorn and Lorna have been regular fundraisers throughout the Great Lakes district and surrounds, and along the NSW mid-coast, at bustling markets, local businesses and just strolling the streets. Aragorn’s fluffy fur and soulful eyes capture the attention of kind souls passing by, and as a registered fundraiser for

Kids with Cancer Foundation, every pat comes with the opportunity to contribute to few dollars to help support kids with cancer and their families through donating to a charity that provides direct financial assistance, Care Packs, Wigs 4 Kids, funds children’s hospitals and oncology clinicians and more.

But while Aragorn has put up his paws, this four-legged champion-fundraiser and his owner Lorna know that others will rise in their place to continue the important work of fundraising for Kids with Cancer Foundation.
